With experience in construction right across the world, Kate finished her Masters degree in 2020 and commenced work as a geologist in Slovakia. Throughout university, Kate studied abroad as an exchange student at INHA University in South Korea, NSYSU University in Taiwan and Zhejiang University in China.
Kate has previous experience on tunnel projects in Iceland, using the Drill & Blast method. In April 2022 Kate moved to Auckland to work on CRL metro project and was part of the team undertaking the excavation of the mined tunnel at Karangahape station. Kate also worked at CRL as a shift engineer on the secondary lining.
A recent career highlight was working as part of the tunnel excavation team at Arncliffe on the M6 Stage 1 project in Sydney. Kate’s experience gained across the world made her instrumental to the team in dealing with the complex geology.
